LION KILLS A LITTLE GIRL.; Twelve-Year-Old Was Attacked While Making It Do Circus Tricks

October 24, 1911, Tuesday

JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 23. -- Smiling despite the pain caused by frightful wounds which covered her back and arms, twelve-year-old Martha Frazier died to-day as a result of being attacked by a lion Saturday in Utica, Miss., where a circus was performing. The girl was brought here to the Jackson Sanitarium by her father. He started to-night for Philadelphia with the body.
